General Information

The Center for Computational Electromagnetics is aimed at the development of a new knowledge base that will allow computer solutions to electromagnetic problems of unprecedented sizes and complexity. The resultant codes and algorithms with reduced computational complexity and memory requirements, in conjuction with the rapid development in the CPU speed of computer technology, will significantly alter the manner in which computers are used in the design of antennas, RCS reduction of aircraft, high-speed circuits, remote sensing and related applications.

The proposed research program will use the computational resources at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and more specifically those offered by the National Center for Supercomputing Applications. A dedicated computing facility for the center has been installed and allows access to top-of-the-line workstations and an SGI Power Challenge Array (Computational Resources).
